Therapeutic Effect of Akocin in Chronic Otitis Media and Otitis Media with Effusion Patient

Abstract

|
It has been know that Netilmicin (Akocin) has no ototoxicity and renal toxic effect among aminglycoside. antibiotics and good therapeutic effect in otorhinolaryngology disease. So we studied the therapeutic effect and side effect after 7day intramscular injection of netilmicin. The pathogens of ear discharge were S.aureus (13 cases), P.aeruginosa (8 cases), P.mirabilis (4 cases), P.stuarti (1 cases). 29 patients (93.5%) had a good therapeutic effect after netilmicin treatment. 5 patients had mild gastrointestinal problem (indigestion anustea). There was no difference between pretreatment PTA (pure tone average) and post treatment PTA. And there was no renal problems after netilmicin treatment. But the therapeutic effect and side effect should be studied for more patients and diseases.
